The Vertical Himalaya itinerary spans 14 days, focusing on a gradual ascent and deep cultural immersion in Sherpa villages that remain largely untouched by mass tourism.

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. The evening is yours to soak in the atmosphere of the capital before your long journey begins. Meals: None | Max Elevation: 1,350m

Day 02 :

Exploration of Kathmandu and Trek Preparation

While we process your restricted area permits, you can explore the ancient Durbar Squares or Pashupatinath. A pre-trip meeting in the evening will introduce you to your crew and gear requirements. Meals: B | Max Elevation: 1,350m

Day 03 :

Drive to Chechet and Trek to Simigaun

Drive from Kathmandu to Chechet via Charikot, enjoying views of Gaurishankar. After reaching Chechet, begin a steep 2-hour uphill trek to the terraced village of Simigaun. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 7-8 hrs drive + 2 hrs trek | Max Elevation: 2,036m

Day 04 :

Trek to Dongang

Enter the Rolwaling Valley, trekking through lush rhododendron and magnolia forests. The trail follows the Rolwaling Khola to the small settlement of Dongang. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 6-7 hrs | Max Elevation: 2,800m

Day 05 :

Trek to Beding

Follow the river through narrow gorges to reach Beding, the largest Sherpa village in the valley. The village features a well-positioned Gompa and ancient stone houses. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 6-7 hrs | Max Elevation: 3,790m

Day 06 :

Rest and Acclimatization in Beding

A crucial rest day to allow your body to adjust to the altitude. You can take a short hike to a higher viewpoint or explore the local Sherpa culture. Meals: B, L, D | Max Elevation: 3,790m

Day 07 :

Trek to Na Village

A short walk through the glaciated U-shaped valley leads to Na, a summer grazing pasture. The views of Chobutse (6,689m) rising above the valley are spectacular. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 3-4 hrs | Max Elevation: 4,200m

Day 08 :

Hike to Tso Rolpa Lake and back to Na

A challenging but rewarding hike to the turquoise waters of Tso Rolpa, Nepal's largest glacial lake. Return to Na for the night. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 4-6 hrs | Max Elevation: 4,580m

Day 09 :

Trek to Yalung Ri Base Camp

Leave the village behind and ascend a steep trail for about 3 hours to the Base Camp. The camp is set on a rocky shelf with surreal views of the surrounding peaks. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 3-4 hrs | Max Elevation: 4,900m

Day 10 :

Summit Yalung Ri ($5,630$m) and Return to Na

Summit day. Start before dawn to navigate the rocky terrain and the glacial section. The final 40-degree snow ridge leads to the summit. Descend all the way back to Na. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 7-9 hrs | Max Elevation: 5,630m

Day 11 :

Trek to Dongang

Retrace your steps down the valley, enjoying the increased oxygen levels and the familiar sights of the Rolwaling river. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 6-7 hrs | Max Elevation: 2,800m

Day 12 :

Trek to Simigaun and Drive to Charikot

Trek back down to Chechet and then drive to the hill station of Charikot for a comfortable night’s stay. Meals: B, L, D | Duration: 4-5 hrs trek + 2-3 hrs drive | Max Elevation: 2,036m

Day 13 :

Drive back to Kathmandu
